In this first unit you’ll walk through the neuroscience behind attachment and the very real impacts on the brain, including the brain regions, the neurotransmitters, the neural pathways, attachment in early development, attachment and resilience, the plasticity of attachment and a case study. Also included is a TED talk on the latest in neuroscience and understanding the roles of both parents and how very different they are and our needs for recovery in adulthood.
Also included in this first module are infographics for the attachment styles plus a template homework book designed by Linda including infographics, information sheets and blank worksheets for you design specific homework for each individual client according to the neuroscience – 52 pages which include the specific elements of recovery needed for each brain region.
Modules 2, 3, 4 and 5 exam multiple areas of each attachment style, which include each attachment styles common characteristics, strengths and struggles, Pete Walkers 4 types of attachment styles for each attachment type, what emotional neglect looks like for each attachment style, each attachment style as it presents in relationships plus using an attachment style to develop internal self awareness, healthy coping strategies, developing self trust and how to learn to communicate according to your attachment style. How to process emotions and develop assertiveness as we introduce how to set achievable goals to build confidence and self esteem.
Each attachment style will also include how to help clients build healthy relationships, how to begin reparenting and how we can coach our clients in the reparenting process plus how to reparent your inner child and develop a secure attachment. We’ll learn how to develop self compassion for each attachment style plus introduce specific exercises to develop self compassion, discover what each attachment style looks like in intimacy and how to begin developing intimacy in a clients relationship/s.
For each attachment style we’ve developed a Prompted Mindfulness Journal which includes what mindfulness challenges appear like with complex trauma clients in order to help each individual work towards a mindfulness practice that is calming and produces the desires results for recovery. Also included is a workbook on How to Soothe your Attachment Style plus all the slides easily make client resource homework to aid in their effective recovery. You will also discover different Attachment Measures with links to increase your understanding of an individual’s attachment recovery needs plus a list of extra attachment measures for more resources if needed.
Module 6 we’re working with Pete Walkers 4f’s – Fight, Flight, Freeze and Fawn and the relationship to attachment plus how we can best assist our clients to recognise their specific 4 F response plus the necessary coping skills they will need to build into their daily life in order to aid overcoming the unconscious trigger response.Included also is the neuroscience of the 4f’s plus the difference between attachment and the 4f’s to ensure clients understand which area they need to address as their one next step. Included are infographics you can share with your client to assist with their experiential homework.
